300 Gaza Children to Be Evacuated to the UK for Medical Treatment at NHS Hospitals
Casal dels Infants – The UK government is preparing to evacuate around 300 Palestinian children suffering from severe illnesses and injuries from the Gaza Strip. These Gaza children are expected to be transferred to the United Kingdom to receive intensive medical care at hospitals operated by the National Health Service (NHS).
British media first reported the plan, and government officials plan to announce it officially in the coming weeks. The evacuation will require complex coordination between UK authorities, international humanitarian organizations, and medical personnel in the conflict zone.
To begin with, most of the children who will be evacuated suffer from chronic illnesses, serious injuries from attacks, or medical conditions that urgently require intervention. As a result, hospitals in Gaza lack medicine, electricity, and medical staff, which prevents them from providing life-saving treatment locally.

Humanitarian organizations have described the situation in Gaza as a “completely preventable health disaster.” Many children suffer severe psychological trauma while also coping with physical injuries. The loss of family members and the destruction of their communities have inflicted deep emotional wounds on them.
According to recent reports, six Gaza residents, including children, have died of starvation in the past 24 hours. The death toll from hunger alone has now reached over 175 people, 93 of them children. The total number of casualties from the ongoing conflict has surpassed 60,000 Palestinians and 1,500 Israelis.
Israel’s total blockade of Gaza has led to a critical shortage of clean water, food, electricity, and medical supplies. Refugee camps host overcrowded conditions, and the crisis continues to place children in the most vulnerable position. Many are dying not from direct attacks, but from infection, hypothermia, and starvation.
The international community views the UK’s initiative as part of growing global pressure to address the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Ireland and Norway have called for the creation of permanent medical evacuation corridors. Similarly, other countries have joined them in urging support for civilians trapped in conflict zones.
First, the United Nations Security Council will hold an emergency session on August 5, 2025, to discuss the Gaza crisis. Then, member states will assess possible actions the international community can take.
