Alleged Child Sexual Harassment on Citilink Flight: A Chronology
Casal dels Infants – Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police Chief Ronald Sipayung reported alleged child sexual harassment on a Citilink flight from Denpasar to Jakarta. The alleged perpetrator, identified as IWM (54), committed the act on Monday, July 14, 2025.
According to Ronald, the victim was traveling with her aunt from Denpasar to Jakarta. While on the plane, the victim attempted to take a selfie facing the window and had to pass the suspect’s seat. She asked for permission, and the suspect allowed it.
During the meal service, the suspect helped open the victim’s plastic-wrapped spoon by biting it. After handing the spoon to the victim, he allegedly placed his hand on her thigh without consent.

“The victim was shocked and tried to signal her aunt with eye contact and a soft voice, but was not understood,” Ronald said on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
The victim later asked to go to the toilet but was initially held back as the seatbelt sign was still on. Once allowed, she went to the lavatory at the back of the cabin. A witness heard her crying hysterically and reported it to a flight attendant. The victim was then moved to a different seat.
In the early hours of Tuesday, July 15, 2025, the victim’s aunt informed the mother that the child refused to go home due to experiencing sexual harassment. The family then reported the incident to the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police.
Police launched an investigation after receiving the report. Airport police apprehended the suspect after the plane landed, following his handover by airline security. Authorities named IWM, a pharmaceutical sales manager, as the suspect. They are currently holding him at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police Detention Center.
