Statements from local residents revealed that NR has a history of mental illness and had previously undergone psychiatric treatment. Several neighbors noted that while NR sometimes displayed unusual behavior, it had never been violent before. This background has now become a key focus of the ongoing investigation.

“The suspect had been previously treated at a mental hospital,” confirmed Iptu Putra Agung, Head of Criminal Investigation at Gading Cempaka Police, Sunday (August 3, 2025). This information strengthens the suspicion that psychological factors played a role in the incident.

To determine NR’s mental condition, the police have enlisted a psychiatric specialist. The psychiatric specialist conducts the examination to assess the suspect’s mental state. “We’ve requested help from a psychiatric specialist to evaluate the suspect’s condition. We’re waiting for the results,” said Kompol Sujud Yulam Lam.
