So far, including premiere shows, the movie has grossed around ₹45 crore in India and ₹30 crore overseas. With this extraordinary momentum, experts believe the film is headed for a “sure shot ₹100 crore+ worldwide opening day,” a milestone achieved by only a select few Indian movies.

If early trends continue, They Call Him OG could secure a place among the biggest openers in Indian cinema history. Reports also suggest that within just two days, the movie will surpass all previous records to become Pawan Kalyan’s highest-grossing film ever.

Global Challenge: Content Delivery Hiccups

Despite the hype, They Call Him OG faces challenges with timely content delivery to international markets. Media reports indicate that the movie’s digital prints have not been fully dispatched in some regions. This delay fuels fears of postponed premieres or outright cancellations.

Some overseas theatre chains confirmed they cannot screen the film without the required content. Meanwhile, the North American distributor, Prathyangira Cinemas, revealed it will not release the Tamil version in that territory due to unavoidable delays.

Since overseas openings rely heavily on early premiere shows, even minor disruptions could dent collections in crucial markets. The film has received an A certificate in India for its violent content. This rating might limit audiences internationally or require additional edits.

High Financial Stakes

The financial expectations surrounding They Call Him OG are enormous. Trade estimates project more than ₹50 crore from overseas markets on Day 1 alone. This underscores how critical the global response will be to the film’s success. With such high stakes, smooth execution of its release is essential.
